Belfast leaders display their commitment to school community

A huge well done to Year 13 YEHA Peer Mentor trainees at De La Salle College Belfast who dedicated two days of their mid‑term break to take part in an OCNNI‑accredited residential programme in Ballycastle.

This residential is a key part of the YEHA project, which has been running in De La Salle College for the past five years. Each year, our Peer Mentors help shape what comes next—learning about their roles, planning new ideas and getting ready to support younger students in the school community.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment, leadership and willingness to give up their own time to support others.

Inspire Now -NI Youth Conference 2026 QUB

We are very proud of our Year 11 pupil, Kyryl, who participated in INSPIRE NOW! – Northern Ireland’s Annual Youth Conference 2026 at Queen’s University.

The event brought together young people from across Northern Ireland to share ideas, build connections and take part in inspiring workshops on anti-racism, gaming and gambling awareness and ending violence against women and girls.

Well done, Kyryl, for representing our school and being part of such an important conversation.

St Agnes' Novena

It was a privilege for our College Choir to open the first day of St Agnes’ Novena.

We were delighted to be joined by some of our wonderful instrumentalists, as well as Lucia and Grace from St Genevieve’s.

It is always such a pleasure to share these special moments with our local community and to build relationships with the congregation in the Parish.

A special thank you to Fr McCullough for inviting us to be part of it all!

Year 8 Gaelic Team Success

Congratulations to our Year 8 Gaelic Team, who have secured their place in the Antrim Shield final following an excellent performance at Wednesday’s GAA blitz in Rathmore. Well done, boys.

Past Pupil Success

We are incredibly proud of our past pupil Michael Magee on the exciting news that his debut novel has been adapted for television!

Channel 4 has commissioned Close to Home, a new four-part drama produced by Element Pictures and filmed in Belfast.

Close to Home is filmed with support from Northern Ireland Screen and Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland.

Based on Michael Magee’s debut novel, the series follows Sean as he returns home from university to a city still living in the shadow of the past, where one night sends his life into chaos.

Leading the cast will be Anthony Boyle (Say Nothing, House of Guinness), Jessica Reynolds (A Woman of Substance, Kneecap), Seamus O’Hara (House of Guinness, Say Nothing), and Oisín Thompson (Trespasses). The series is adapted by Michael Magee and directed by Diarmuid Goggins.
