Caring for our Common Home at St Augustine’s

Year 8 students from St. Augustine’s Catholic College in Trowbridge had their annual retreat before the end of term where they were all involved in exciting workshops that allowed them to think about, and express creatively, our commitment as a Lasallian College to caring for our Common Home.

Group leaders took inspiration from Pope Francis’, Laudato SI – endorsed by Pope Leo XIII – and workshops focussed on both individual action and how we can, and must work together to effect change in our world.

From personal commitments to how we can communicate the urgent message about our environment, the students produced amazing artifacts and shared profound insights into specific issues, locally and world-wide.

In the Jubilee Year as People of Hope, staff came away from the retreats convinced that our students could truly be identified as the Hope for the future of the Church and, more specifically, Good Stewards of our Common Home.
