Celebrating Advent at St Benild School

Throughout Advent, St. Benild School has focused on preparing the hearts of its young students, in a variety of ways, always focusing on CHRIST in CHRISTMAS.

  • Meaningful Advent Sessions per class led by Mr David Portelli, our Lay Chaplain. During these sessions he focused on the characters in the Nativity story through a Godly Play approach to religious education.

  • Lighting and explaining the meaning behind each of the four Advent Candles during special assemblies, whilst building our crib

  • Putting up performances for our Grade 1 parents -  all of which had a strong message emphasising on the real reason for the season.

  • Thinking of others by collecting money and foodstuffs for those in need.

The Feast of St. Cecilia - Patron Saint of All Musicians

A glimpse into a St Cecilia Morning Concert, where some of our pupils, and some of their relatives, shared their love for music, song and dance with us!   Music is the heart of life! - Franz Liszt

World Children Day Activities at St Benild School

How did we celebrate? - with a galore of crafts, games, pizza making and a drum workshop for which donations were collected for a music project for street children in the Philippines, led by Maltese missionary.

The Feast of St. Nicholas - Friday, 5th December

All the classes at St. Benild School, part of Stella Maris College, put our Lasallian Core Principles into action through Community Service.  Each class visited day centres, homes for the elderly or elderly neighbours to spread good cheer through Christmas carols, handmade crafts and cards, and gifts provided by our Lasallian families.

Moreover, one of our classes spent the day visiting all the Maltese De La Salle Brothers in their community house, to share their cheerful Christmas wishes. It was a beautiful moment where the youngest members of our Lasallian family reached out with gratitude to the eldest, bridging generations with smiles, songs, and love.
