Celebrating Chaplaincy at St Margaret Ward

St Margaret Ward joined fellow students involved in Chaplaincy from across the Archdiocese gathered on September 18th at St Chad’s Cathedral. They went to join the Diocesan Chaplaincy Commissioning Mass, where they were encouraged and celebrated for their work in support the Catholic Life of our school. Our chaplaincy team- the Lasallian Ambassadors- joined the Mass celebrated by Bishop Timothy Menezes.

During Mass, Bishop Timothy praised the work of chaplaincy, encouraging both staff and students to continue to put prayer and social action at the heart of our schools. After Mass, we had a moment to take a look around the Cathedral, including seeing some of the personal effects of St John Henry Newman, the shrine of St Chad and admiring the beautiful Church. We then met and had photos with Bishop Timothy before stopping for some cake and meeting with students from other schools.

The Mass was a great opportunity for students to be commissioned in and celebrate the work of Chaplaincy as well as see that there are many more like them across the Archdiocese. The students were great witnesses of our Lasallian Value of Faith in the Presence of God, joining the Mass reverently and prayerfully. We look forward to seeing what they will achieve at St Margaret Ward this year.
