One La Salle Global Fund launched to help those on the peripheries

An exciting new initiative is being launched by the La Salle Foundation that will bring the global strategies of the Lasallian Mission into the classrooms across our District, and to help those most in need across the world.

The One La Salle Global Fund Campaign, in which we aspire to engage as a united global Lasallian Family in support of our worldwide educational Shared Mission, will not only help us identify and transform the lives of those on the peripheries but will also strengthen the ties of the Lasallian Family worldwide.

Each day, our transformative Lasallian education positively impacts the lives of over one million students in 80 countries, a testament to the unwavering dedication of the women and men who share in this exemplary work at over 1100 schools.

As we aspire to achieve the goals of the General Chapter, AIMEL III and District Mission Assembly, the One La Salle Global Campaign, has been established to create a co-ordinated effort raise funds and support projects that will make a difference to the most vulnerable.

This campaign, in direct response to the 46th General Chapter's call to go to the peripheries, aims to ensure the sustainability and viability of our Shared Mission worldwide, not just today, but into the future.

We hope that this One La Salle Global Fund campaign raises awareness and consciousness of each one's most valuable contribution to education in this One Lasallian Mission, "to give a human and Christian education" especially to those who are poor.

It is also worth remembering that the aim of this initiative is not solely about raising money. It is also about bringing our resources, talents and expertise to bear in areas that it is needed most and, in that way, helping to make a real difference.

What can you do?

Together, let's amplify the impact of the Lasallian mission and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

How many of us within the Lasallian family in our District or Region truly grasp the vast extent of our network? We span across more than a million students in a thousand schools spread across 80 countries. Shockingly, half of these students face extreme vulnerability, robbed of their basic right to education due to the harsh realities of war, discrimination, multidimensional poverty, and migration.

Our mission stands as a beacon of hope for them. Let us illuminate the beauty of our interconnected network and rally support for the most fragile members of our family, through the #1LaSalleCampaign

We are calling on all Lasallians in the District to consider supporting this project in their schools and centres. This does not necessarily mean doing something new, but to find ways to incorporate what you are already doing in order to help the wider Lasallian community.

What events and reflective moments does your school, educational centre, or Lasallian family have in store for La Salle Day or to mark the end of the school year? Are there already service initiatives underway?

Don’t duplicate your effort, but change the focus!

Perhaps you could dedicate the planned end-of-year event, whether it's a bake sale or a musical, to the spirit of La Salle. You could sell tickets to attend and donate the proceeds to outreach projects foreseen by the 1La Salle campaign aimed at supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
