St Augustine’s creates Living Lasallian Star
The Living Lasallian Star, as a whole college, was created in Saint Augustine’s together last July. The image has been used in welcome assemblies, to remind us that we continue, each day, to build Lasallian community here at the school. We are blessed with a rich and diverse group of people, with 35 languages - which makes our community both global and unique.
Remembrance Day 11th November 2025
The school community at St Augustine’s came together in a spirit of reflection and remembrance, observing the two minute silence at 11am on Remembrance Day.
Students and staff contributed a poppy, inscribed with a name, thought, or memory, to form a collective display in the college reception. This display serves as a poignant tribute to those who have served and sacrificed, and as a reminder of the enduring importance of remembrance within our community.
During our weekly Tutor Masses, our college November list of names will be offered in prayer and placed before the altar, as we continue to pray for the faithful departed throughout this month of remembrance.
Rupert, who is a Year Nine student, presented a remarkable family heirloom dating back to 1914, which includes his great-grandfather’s medals, pipe, and a Christmas box sent by the King to soldiers during the war.
Kintbury - Sixth Form Retreat
The Kintbury Experience' in Berkshire Sixth Form Students had a wonderful opportunity in September attending a day retreat at ‘The Kintbury Experience’, hosted at St. Cassian’s, and found it to be an enriching and rewarding opportunity.
The day featured a range of thoughtfully designed activities, including low ropes challenges, archery, and a tranquil woodland walk.
These experiences encouraged collaboration, focus, and self-reflection, allowing a relaxed atmosphere to engage fully both physically and mentally. The retreat concluded with a spiritual Lasallian reflection that linked the day’s activities to personal growth and faith, creating a supportive environment for renewal and inspiration – with lots of energy left for singing all the way home on the coach.
