Teachers embrace lifelong learning at Churchtown
At De La Salle College, Churchtown, we believe that lifelong learning is not just for students, but for teachers too. In keeping with our ethos that “every day is a school day”, we were delighted to welcome Colm from PerduKo Solutions to deliver a comprehensive training session for our staff on the wide range of Google tools now available in our school.
The session introduced teachers to the powerful possibilities of Google Workspace for Education, including Gemini, Sheets, Slides, Videos, and more. Staff explored how these tools can support collaboration, creativity, and efficiency in both teaching and learning.
Google Sheets offers new ways to manage data and track progress.
Google Slides empowers teachers to create more engaging and interactive presentations.
Google Videos and integrations provide dynamic options for sharing and enhancing lesson content.
And with Gemini AI, teachers gained insight into how cutting-edge technology can support personalised learning experiences for students.
The training was not just about learning the features, but about envisioning how these digital tools can enrich classroom practice and enhance the learning journey for all of our students. By equipping staff with these skills, we aim to give students the benefit of more interactive lessons, more effective feedback, and more creative approaches to learning.
As a college, we are committed to keeping pace with technological advances in education, and sessions like this highlight our dedication to ensuring that our teachers remain innovative, confident, and adaptable.
We extend our thanks to Colm and Perduko Solutions for delivering such an inspiring and practical training session. The feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with many excited to bring these tools into their everyday teaching.
At De La Salle College, we know that when teachers embrace learning, students benefit. This training was another important step in living out our vision of lifelong learning—for teachers and students alike.
