Celebrating Christmas through poetry

Lillie-Rae Parkin, a Year 8 student at De La Salle School Basildon, has continued to explore her creativity by sharing another poem, this time to celebrate Christmas.

Christmas

From the star that shone so bright,

To the stable that held God’s light,

To shepherds from fields nearby,

Come to see the saviour born that night.

Wise men travelled from afar

Guided faithfully by the star.

The Son of God, O so small,

Born to bless us all.

Now to the Angels who sing and proclaim

A perfect picture in a perfect frame,

Through winter’s chill and darkest night,

His mercy fills the world with light.

Come, let every heart adore

Christ the Lord, forevermore.

Hearts uplifted, voices raised,

Singing forth his endless praise.
