De La Salle College Churchtown celebrated a significant milestone in the school’s history with the opening of a new Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classroom.

The support of Lasallians in the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, helped deliver a much-needed facility at Saint James’ Higher Secondary School, Suranam in India, as Br Thomas Walsh, from the De La Salle College Waterford Community, explains.

A Lasallian CPD entitled ‘Strengthening Ethos in a Lasallian School’ will take place in Mellieha Retreat Centre, Malta, from August 17 to 24, for anyone working in a Lasallian school who wishes to deepen their awareness and understanding of the Lasallian Family, heritage and spirituality.

A follow-up Lasallian CPD entitled ‘Seeing Beyond’ will be held in St Cassian’s, Kintbury, on Palm Sunday Weekend (April 8-10) for practitioners from the District.

Principals, Heads and Senior Leadership Team members in our District are invited to take part in a RELEM-ASSEDIL Formation Session which we believe would be very beneficial. Registrations close this Friday (January 21st).

Despite working online from home, the students at St Benild School still had a visit from the Three Wise Men during our morning assembly.

Although travel restrictions have impacted on their activities of over the past two years, Lasallian Projects are determined to continue their good work by providing financial support to a very worthwhile project.

On Wednesday December 15th, 2021, St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy, Stoke, connected virtually for Mass with the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in the Philippines as part of an ongoing Cross-Culture Ambassadors programme.

Year 9 students from De La Salle High School, Downpatrick recently participated in many activities centred around ‘Anti-bullying’ week.

St John’s DLS College, Ballyfermot’s amalgamation with two other local schools, to form St Seton’s Secondary School, has taken another significant step forward with the unveiling of the new school crest.

Students at Cardinal Langley RC High School have really embraced the spirit of giving at Christmas with a number of events organised to help those in need at this time.

The funeral service of Br. Allan Geppert took place on Tuesday November 30th following his passing on November 2. At the service, Br .Tom Cooney delivered the following eulogy for his life-long friend.

As always, the students at St Gerald’s College, Castlebar, were very busy over the past few weeks with activities involving innovation, charity work and a bit of festive cheer.

The 1719 Society at St De La Salle School, St Helens, has been very busy this term. Each of our strands have led a series of activities and the focus for us this term has been has been on community and Hope.
