Three representatives from our District were present at Casa La Salle in Rome for the 10th Formation Course for Directors at RELEM between October 2nd and 7th.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, welcomed its newest Principal on Monday October 3rd when Ciara Parris took on the role at St Declan’s Boys National School in Waterford.

On September 23rd, 2022, the District Mission Council met to focus on the preparations for the 2nd District Mission Assembly that will take place in Malta between February 6th and 8th, 2023.

Since September 2021 the District Council, the members of the Office of Mission and other District personnel have been meeting regularly with the facilitation of Caplor Horizons, on strategic change and organisational culture.

Responding to calls for the Lasallian Family to create Intentional Lasallian Community experiences, a group of over 20 Lasallians, Brothers and Partners, gathered at St. Cassian's on Sunday, October 2nd to pray together, get to know each other, talk and dream, and share a meal.

The past few months at St Illtyd’s Catholic High School have been very busy with a number of initiatives that promote Lasallian values and development among the students and staff.

A super day was had by all our Year 8's packed full of fun, activities and problem-solving games. It proved to be a great start to the year for all our young gentlemen which hopefully gives them focus and a ready to learn attitude.

The Student Leadership Programme in Ireland will take in Castletown on October 11th and 12th. 

The new academic year brought changes at the helm in some of our schools as we said goodbye to colleagues and also welcomed new principals.

Congratulations to all at De La Salle School Basildon who celebrated their 50th anniversary at a special ceremony on Saturday September 24th. Staff and students - past and present - were joined by guests from all over the District for the special day.

What an exciting time it is at St Benild School in Malta! All the staff have been hands on deck preparing to welcome our new entrants to their new school and welcoming back our second graders!

First year students in the De La Salle College Dundalk had an enjoyable night at their First Year Mass on Thursday September 22nd. The sermon was led by school Priest Father Paddy Rushe.

St Declan’s Boys National School in Waterford began the new year by unveiling a new outdoor learning environment which was developed over the summer.

In 1683 St John Baptist de La Salle met with his Archbishop to request permission to resign from his prestigious canonry at Reims cathedral. Br. John Deeney of the Oxford Community takes a modern-day reflection on that historic event with the ‘DLS: Resignation Rap’.
