The Lasallian Family in Waterford had an extra reason to celebrate Founder’s Day this year as they used the occasion to dedicate the new school building to the memory of Br. Tim O’Shea.

St Illtyd’s have illustrated once again the value of community spirit as various groups have come together to help bring life to the school garden. A lot has been achieve in recent times, but they are seeking more support.

It has been a busy end to the year at De La Salle Retreat Centre where the team have enjoyed visits from a variety of groups.

The Irish Pastoral Advisory Board had a very successful meeting in Castletown on Wednesday June 7th where retreat teams reflected on the wonderful work that is being carried out in our centres.

Students and staff at St Nicholas Monastery School, Dundalk, have enjoyed many big events over the past few weeks including, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Founder’s Day and Sports Day.

The annual sports day at De La Salle High School, Downpatrick, is one of the highlights of the calendar and this year’s event once again proved very enjoyable as the students displayed their athletic talents.

The work to deliver on the outcomes of the District Mission Assembly gathered momentum this week when the District MEL Council and District Teams (Provincial Team, Mission Team and other District personnel) met for detailed discussions.

Founder’s Day celebrations at De La Salle College Churchtown were even more special this year for a variety of reasons.

Day three of the District Chapter was hosted by the St John’s Community, St Helens, on Saturday, June 17th.

Once again it was an open and positive gathering on the theme of ‘Restructuring’ that allowed delegates to discuss items of importance, both in plenary and in small groups, with much of the emphasis on issues of governance.

The meeting of the Council of the Lasallian Educational Mission of RELEM (Lasallian Region of Europe and the Mediterranean) was held at the Generalate in Rome between June 13 and 14, 2023.

During May half term, students and staff from St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy responded to a calling as they journeyed to Lourdes lived the Lasallian values and enjoyed a very rewarding time.

Educators at St Benild had a wonderful opportunity to ‘count their blessings’ and connect with eachother at a live-in at the Lasallian Retreat Centre in Mellieha

De La Salle College Churchtown are pleased to announce that starting next year, they will be implementing an innovative solution to address the concerns surrounding excessive smartphone use during school hours.

Oodles of fine bone china, linen napkins, candlesticks, lamps and a desire to further involve our community in our school; what can we do to combine all these? The answer; have a vintage afternoon tea party for De La Salle College Churchtown’s local residents.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta was very well represented at a very significant conference in Rome in April on Women in the Lasallian Family.

St Gerald’s De La Salle College celebrated their Lasallian spirit as we welcomed Br Tom Walsh, DLS Waterford, his colleague Tom O’Neill and past pupil of SGC, Ernie Sweeney, on Thursday 27th April.

The strength, enthusiasm and passion of the Lasallian Family in the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta was highlighted once again with a series of celebrations to mark Founder’s Day.

Students in Beneavin De La Salle College celebrated Founder’s Day in fitting style by learning more about St John Baptist de La Salle and also recognising students who display the Lasallian values.
