Appointment of Chelsea Catli as Volunteers and Youth Ministry Coordinator
The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta (IGBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Chelsea Catli as Volunteers and Youth Ministry Coordinator, effective September 14th, 2026. Chelsea, who currently serves as the National Youth Coordinator of De La Salle Philippines, will be transitioning into this new role.
Chelsea brings to the role extensive experience of working with Young Lasallians, Partners, and Brothers on a Sector and District level in the Lasallian East Asia District. Her strengths include project management, conducting formation sessions, and creating structures that empower young people to be active contributors to the Lasallian Mission. Her formation and deep commitment to the Mission is continuously shaped by her experience of representing her community in gatherings such as the 4th International Symposium of Young Lasallians, the 2019 International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU) Summer Leadership Program, and her involvement in the core group that supports the Commission on Youth of the Institute.
Joseph Gilson, Director of Mission, comments about the new role: “The creation of this role in the District is a culmination of a long process of evolution and growth spanning back to the setting up of the International Council of Young Lasallians in Rome in 2003. It’s been a long-time coming and it has been a journey characterised by the incremental setting of the foundations, relationships, and culture required for this role to be as impactful and effective as possible.”
“Chelsea, working within the Office of Mission, will develop, promote and sustain programmes and resources for young people across the District, with particular attention to volunteering, faith formation, leadership development, critical citizenship and social justice. This role will also support the Young Lasallians Movement to continue to flourish and become more embedded across our network.”
Chelsea will also support the work of Lasallian Projects in Great Britain (LP‑GB) and Lasallian Projects in Ireland (LP‑EI), as well as working alongside Animation Teams, Committees, Councils and NGOs to sustain a vibrant range of local and international volunteering opportunities for young people in Ireland, Great Britain and Malta.
