Cardinal Langley enjoys pilgrimage to Rome
120 students in years 8 & 9 at Cardinal Langley RC High School have had the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Rome this month. The group was divided into three separate trips across three weekends.
The groups were warmly welcomed to stay in Casa La Salle joined to the Brothers’ Generalate on Via Aurelia. We had the opportunity to meet with Brother Chris and enjoyed learning more about the Lasallian roots in the museum and praying at the relics of the founder himself housed in the Brothers’ Chapel.
The students journeyed through the streets of Rome over the four days, visiting the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Pantheon, praying at the tomb of the late Pope Francis in St Mary Major, St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museum and Sistine chapel.
Each evening the group gathered in the Brothers’ chapel for night prayer in the presence of God; reflecting on our theme of Pilgrims of Hope. The trips concluded with Holy Mass at the Venerable English College and the Angelus with Pope Leo XVI in St Peter’s Square.
In all it was a very blessed, fruitful and enjoyable experience, with lasting memories of community, history, awe and faith. Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
