Castletown Retreats ensure that all are connected

During this month of November, De La Salle Retreat Centre Castletown welcomed a variety of groups including Third Years, TYs, Student leaders and our first Confirmation group of this academic year.

We continue to be blessed with wonderful students who fully embrace our programmes and leave enriched, having experienced their day here with us.

This year we began a new initiative which we call the GoldenThread. We encourage students to write messages to the groups that will be coming after them, and these messages are displayed on a screen and given to the groups during the first session of the day. These messages are positive and affirming and are appreciated by the students. It's our way of ensuring that all of us are connected.

Our Student leadership programme encourages students to look out for each other, especially younger students, and we were privileged to work with Student mentors (Meántorí) from a local secondary school. These wonderful leaders/mentors were truly inspiring.

In this month of November, may we remember those who have inspired us and have departed this life. We give thanks especially for all the Brothers and staff. May they be enjoying their eternal reward.
