Celebrating Quality Education at St Joseph’s
St Joseph’s College Beulah Hill is celebrating the success of 12 students from Year 7 and Year 8 who have graduated from The Scholars Programme, organised by The Brilliant Club, an educational charity that aims to raise aspirations and widen access to highly competitive universities for students from non-selective state schools.
The graduation event at Royal Holloway, University of London, (Egham Campus), was not only a celebration of their hard work but also a valuable source of informative and thought-provoking presentations from a range of keynote speakers including current undergraduates.
The Scholar’s Programme was structured around seven tutorials where students developed their subject knowledge and critical thinking skills through independent research tasks and group work with a PhD tutor and engage in university-style learning experiences in Art History. Their final assignment involved writing a 1500-word academic essay titled, Power, Personality and Portraiture.
We were delighted that all our students not only passed the course but also received fantastic grades and excellent feedback from their PhD tutor, Grace. Our students have shown great enthusiasm and resilience for the programme and have consistently demonstrated high levels of engagement and academic achievement. They have gained invaluable skills, such as critical thinking, research, and academic writing that will serve them well in their future studies
