Celebrating wellbeing and inclusion at Macroom

De La Salle College Macroom celebrated the value of diversity and inclusion at the vibrant Multicultural Day.

A massive well done to all who took part in the day, and in particular to journalism students Kian Dineen and Jakub Sliczniak who captured the events.

Wellbeing and inclusion

A lovely way to mark the end of the 3rd Years’ pre-exams

Our students took part in a wellbeing and inclusion walk through The Gearagh, enjoying some fresh air with a chance to reset after a busy exam period.

A huge thank you to Ted Cooke and Diarmuid Crowley for a fantastic guided tour.

First Aid Course

Our Fourth Years were busy last week taking part in their First Aid course

The students are learning vital life-saving skills, including how to respond in emergencies, basic CPR, and how to help someone until professional help arrives.

Maths competition

Huge congratulations to Odhran O’Regan on an outstanding achievement in the IMTA First Year Maths Competition, scoring an impressive 95%.

This is a fantastic result in a national competition with over 18,500 entries from 280 schools across the country. Only 210 students nationwide achieved a score of 95%, making this an especially noteworthy accomplishment.

Well done Odhran — a brilliant achievement and one to be very proud of!

Athletics

Congratulations again to our Minor Cross Country Team who came 3rd in the South Munster Cross Country in Tramore Valley Park.

Internet Safety

Well done to 1B on a brilliant Internet Safety campaign

The class created eye-catching, thoughtful posters highlighting the importance of staying safe online.

Building Knowledge on Site

A huge thank you to John McCarthy, foreman with Lauragh Construction, for taking time out of his day to give our Architectural Technology Transition Year class an inspiring and informative tour of Duggans House on Sleaveen Hill.

Seeing the building at the construction stage gave students a real-world insight into how a house overlooking the town comes to life. Thanks again, John — a fantastic experience for our 4th years.
