Launch of Lasallian Competition 2025-26

The Lasallian Competition 2025-26 was formally launched at the Student Leadership Programme in Castletown, with schools invited to submit entries for what is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the District calendar.

Organised by MEL Committee Ireland, the Lasallian Competition sees schools from across Ireland tap into their creative talents to celebrate the Lasallian Mission.

It is hoped that every school, primary and post-primary, will be in a position to enter the competition this year.  Schools may decide to hold the competition at school level first and send forward their best entries (up to three submissions) to the national competition.  All entries (even those who are not sent forward to the finals) receive a certificate.

The closing date for entries is Friday February 13th, while the final will take place in Castletown on Tuesday March 10th, 2026.

The theme for this year is: ‘All is Connected’ that allows students to explore our Lasallian Values, creating a more inclusive community.

The competition is open to individual, class or group entries (maximum 6 in a group), and can include, a piece of Writing (Poems, Essays, Drama etc), Art (Animation, Film, Painting, Drawing, Ceramics), Music, Making and Creating, Video, Woodwork, Metalwork, Media, Power Point, Apps or any other suitable medium.

Students are also asked to accompany their entry with a blurb explaining the importance/significance of the piece (max 150 words).

All entries receive a certificate, while there will be a winner chosen in individual, group and class, along with an overall winner.
