Reflection and collaboration at DLS Belfast

All staff at De La Salle College, Belfast gathered on Thursday August 28th for a Formation Day dedicated to refreshing our Mission, Vision, and Values. The day provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection, collaboration, and renewal of our Lasallian ethos.

Guided by our Principal Claire White, Joseph Gilson from the Lasallian Mission Council, and Aidan Donaldson from the Diocesan Trust Schools’ Support Service, staff explored our traditions, reflected on current challenges, and looked ahead to how we can best serve our pupils and community in the years to come.

A key focus of the day was the work already carried out by our Mission, Vision and Values working party. Staff were introduced to draft mission and vision statements, offering their insights and suggestions to shape them further. This valuable feedback will now inform the next stage of consultation with parents and pupils, before the refreshed Mission, Vision and Values are finalised later this month.

The Formation Day closed with prayer and reflection, leaving staff united in their commitment to shaping a future for De La Salle College that is rooted in faith, belonging, and hope.
