Spreading kindness at St Benildus College

Le Chéile Day

St. Benildus College celebrated Le Chéile Day with the theme “Spreading Kindness in Le Chéile Schools”. The highlight was a Grandparents’ Morning hosted by the Religion Department, where First Year students and their grandparents enjoyed coffee, treats, and live music from TY students. The event fostered community spirit and left a positive impact on everyone involved.

National Pi Maths Quiz Final

St. Benildus College students excelled in the IAMTA and Pi Quizzes, achieving remarkable results at both regional and national levels. In the IAMTA quiz, one team placed first regionally and advanced to the national finals, finishing just two points behind the winners. In the Pi Quiz, the third year team became national champions, marking the school’s second consecutive All-Ireland victory—a testament to the students' hard work and dedication.

TY Musical

The Transition Year Musical, “POPSTARS!” has been an incredible success. The TYs sang, danced and acted their hearts out throughout the last week of Term 2. After months of preparation with St Raphaela’s Secondary School, over 240 students make their stage debut and put on an incredible show. Well done to all involved, especially the teachers who have given so much of their time to rehearsals and prep this year.

Visit from the Ambassador of Luxembourg

Ambassador Ensch of Luxembourg visited St Benildus College on March 20th, 2025, as part of the Festival de la Francophonie, organised by 28 French-speaking embassies and missions in Ireland. Transition Year students from St. Benildus College made it to the national final of the Angus Beef School’s Competition with their project "Beefing Up Awareness." Aimed at educating peers about the origin and quality of Irish Angus beef, the project included posters, presentations, a recipe book, and even a rap. The team impressed judges at the final in Croke Park, showcasing their creativity and school spirit.

Junior GAA Team wins Dublin A Final

The St. Benildus College junior team had a successful season, starting with a strong win against Aidans in a friendly. In the group stage, they dominated Fintan's and Terenure but narrowly lost to Coláiste Eoin. After defeating Ardscoil in the Dublin semifinals, they faced local rivals Coláiste Eoin in a top class Dublin A final. This they won convincingly to reach the Leinster final. Though they put up a great fight, they ultimately fell to Naas CBS, one of the country's top teams. The school is proud of their achievements and team spirit
