St Benild School embraces co-education

This year was an extra special half term (six weeks long) as St Benild School opened our doors to girls in Grade 1 for the very first time, marking the beginning of our journey towards co-education in the years ahead. This was the first step in our exciting journey towards co-education, where boys and girls will grow and learn together in true Lasallian spirit.

WELCOME  Walk and Picnic

The Welcome Walk and Picnic on Sunday October 5th was a fantastic morning for many of our Lasallian families and educators at St Benild -  an opportunity to connect and get to know each other at the beginning of the scholastic year. The beautiful weather contributed to the atmosphere of friendship and fun, while the day started off with a prayer and a song. This was followed by a long walk in nature, leading to a relaxing spot where a picnic was held and games were played.

World Educator's Day

At St. Benild School we ensured that our educators felt even more valued and special on the morrow of World Educator's Day. What a privilege to have a few of our Brothers - Br Austin, Br. Mario and Br. Saviour -  join us to greet the children as they walked into school. They also joined for teachers' prayer and visited all our classrooms, taking time to admire the children's work. The Brothers distributed the La Salle Malta school diaries and planners as a token of appreciation to all educators.

Mission Week

While millions of children went back to school, many others don’t even know if they ever will — due to lack of resources, conflict, or discrimination.

For students in Haiti, going back to school also means having the certainty of one daily meal. Our Lasallian schools overseas are often the only place where children receive a hot, nutritious meal. Through #1LaSalle, St. Benild School aims to ensure that meal stays on their table. We have wholeheartedly participated in this service and act of kindness by raising funds through a hot dog sale for all our Grade 1s pupils and the school community. A representative from ‘La Salle Foundation’ met our pupils online and clearly explained the cause.

Similarly Grade 2 students had a community breakfast in aid of the missions. A representative from ‘New Beginnings Foundation’ explained how they will be sponsoring breakfast for children who attend MSSP Joseph De Piro Boys High School in Lahore, Pakistan.

We are very grateful to our families for their generosity.
