‘Reflections on a Lasallian Journey’ captures the very essence of our Mission

The District’s new publication ‘Reflections on a 'Lasallian Journey’ has been received enthusiastically and welcomed as a wonderful resource to help us all share and live the Lasallian Mission.

Since distribution of the book across the District commenced in September, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and with submissions from Brothers, students, teachers and other members of the Lasallian Family, the experiences capture the very essence of the Mission.

The book was produced as an initiative from the Office of Mission to celebrate the Lasallian Year of Spirituality, and came to fruition thanks to the efforts of Pat Walsh, Br Laurence Hughes, Br Terry Collins and Eunan Whyte.

The aim of the project was to share examples of how we experience the Lasallian ethos and God in our lives in everyday interactions, with everyone across the District invited to submit articles.

As a result, Reflections on a Lasallian Journey contains over 50 experiences that illustrate just how the Lasallian values enhance our lives. Each story includes a quote from our Founder, relevant to the message, to illustrate how the vision of St John Baptist de La Salle resonates today.

Already, the book has been shared with the MEL Ireland Committee while Br Tommy Walsh has begun visiting schools to present them with copies. On each visit, he has outlined the value of the book to the District and how it can be used as a resource in class, assemblies, prayer services, and meetings to help understand and live the five core principles.

The school visits will continue over the coming weeks, while the book will be available at the upcoming District Ministry Leaders Conference.
