St Margaret Ward students prepare for Lourdes Pilgrimage
On Saturday 5th April, our amazing Year 12 students who are going on Pilgrimage to Lourdes went down to Our Lady & St Chads school in Wolverhampton for a training day. They learnt about basic life support, safe use of wheelchairs, assisting at meal times, bed making and cleaning. This is all to support them, while on pilgrimage to Lourdes, with working in the Accueil with the Assisted Pilgrims. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to serve others and step out of their comfort zones.
Soli Retreat 2025
During the last week of March, a group of our Y8 and 9 students went on retreat to our Diocesan Youth Centre, Soli House. They had an amazing time, taking part in various outdoor activities including crate stacking and trekking. They also had time for prayer, reflection, Mass and various group games. They absolutely loved the chance to get away for a few days, growing together in faith and friendship. Here’s some of their comments on how they found the week away:
‘I learnt more about God and it changed how I see the world in a good way’
‘It is a fun place and you get to talk to people you might not have talked to before and you are encouraged to explore your faith with others.’
‘I enjoyed the mass and preparing for mass because we all got to sing and be part if it together and also because the priest was chill. I also enjoyed crate staking too.’
‘It was super fun and helped me with my relationship with God’
