Students present assembly on peace at Stella Maris Junior School

Grade 5 Arnold students at Stella Maris Junior School presented a play and a song with the theme Living Peace Around Us. The assembly explored the theme and explained in simple terms that although we are surrounded by many people, sometimes we feel alone, no matter where we are - both at school, at work etc. They gave practical examples of how to live in peace at school, at home and how to be ambassadors of peace everywhere they go.  Let's keep the Peace.

Animal Awareness Week

During Animal Awareness week, students collected cat food to donate to Mrs Rita Giordano from Love for Stray Animals Malta Foundation. The school presented the collection to Ms Rita. We thank our Lasallian families for their generosity.

Blessing of the Pets

On Thursday October 2nd, the Junior School students gathered together with the educators and parents for the Blessing of the Pets. Mr Abela, Head of School, led the prayer and gave a short speech. Adam Psaila Costantino interviewed Kayel Camilleri who played the role of St Francis. Fr Anthony then blessed all the pets. The smiles on the students' faces said it all. Thanks to Mr David for helping in the coordination of the event.

Assembly about the Joy of Giving

Grade 5 Miguel presented an assembly to whole school about the Joy of Giving.  The message delivered was very clear, that true happiness comes not from what we receive, but from what we share. The students celebrated the power of kindness, generosity, and compassion, small acts that can make a big difference in the lives of others. Let’s carry this spirit forward every day, spreading joy wherever we go and remembering that giving is the greatest gift of all. The school joined in singing “The Magic Penny” with the Grade 5 Miguel students.

Mission Weeks

During Mission Weeks, teaching teams are oganising several activities to raise funds for several Lasallian Projects – Books, Plant and Cup Cake/Doughnut Sale, Penalty Shoot Out. As per tradition, on Wednesday October 22nd, we organised a Bazaar and the students were very eager to buy something special for their family members. Thanks to all who supported this initiative, and special thanks to all the Erasmus students who helped throughout the day.  A stationery sale was organised in aid of Missio Malta.

During Lasallian Mission Week, Stella Maris Junior School organised a unique and meaningful event to help students better understand the challenges faced by people living in poverty. The day began with a special assembly aimed at deepening our reflections on this important issue. Later, all students were served a simple portion of plain rice, symbolising the daily meals of many people in impoverished countries. A donation was also collected, which will be contributed to support missionary work in Kenya. The activity was coordinated by our Lay Chaplain Mr David Portelli.

COPE Day

Session 1 saw Mr David Polidano from the National Literacy Agency give an overview of all the services offered by the Agency. This will help educators to guide parents to be able to strengthen literacy across all levels of learning. Together, we can build a community where every learner has the tools to read, write, and succeed.

Session 2 saw educators watch a video to ignite self reflection, before sharing their thoughts and discussed a motto for the Grade that depicts "This is what we love!" Now we have a number of visual reminders of the values and passions that unite our team, fostering stronger connection, purpose, and positivity.
