The final session of the Online Lasallian Induction Programme was delivered on Tuesday March 22nd, with the presentation on ‘Lasallian Community’ bringing a very successful initiative to a conclusion.

It has been a busy term of faith-based activities at St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy, with events including Ash Wednesday Liturgies, and marking the beginning of Lent while, there have been fundraising activities and Lent Prayer Challenge.

A special Mass was celebrated on the occasion of the entombment of the remains of Brother Louis Camilleri F.S.C., in the chapel of Stella Maris College, as part of the beatification and canonisation process.

Schools throughout the District constantly busy ensuring that the Lasallian message is prominent throughout their buildings and in De La Salle College, Macroom, they have been updating their displays.

Retreat work at Benildus Pastoral Care centre continues apace. The removal of masks has most definitely benefited the experience of both student and facilitator alike although it has unfortunately increased the risk of contracting Covid, which brings its own concerns and logistic considerations.

At De La Salle Retreat Centre, Castletown, we have been blessed with many days of wonderful spring sunshine over the past few weeks and the brightness outside has been mirrored inside by the vibrancy of the students.

De La Salle College celebrated Catholic School’s week this year from January 24th – February 1st. This Year’s theme was ‘Living Life to the full’.

St Joseph’s College, Beulah Hill, have enjoyed an eventful few weeks and among the highlights were the visit of Br. Chris Patino from the United States, and events to celebrate International Women’s Day.

As a result of our ‘Yellow and Blue Day’ at De La Salle High School, Downpatrick, in support of Ukrainian refugees, the school raised a total of £1,110.

Brother Sudheer, who has been named principal of De La Salle Colleges in Keesara, Andhra Pradesh State, India, has provided in update on recent activities, including efforts to including the steps taken to promote more admissions to the school.

The Lasallian Family at St Benildus College are making the most of the easing of restrictions with a wide variety of activities taking place over recent weeks.

Students from De La Salle Senior School, Malta, have been busy with a number of Religion projects, including those on the topics of ‘Gesu’ il-mudell ta’ hajti / Jesus the model of my life’ and ‘he Monotheistic Religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam’.

Students from St John’s College, Ballyfermot, enjoyed the experience of returning to a more normal routine with a number of day trips, including outings to Kilmainham Gaol and a farm visit.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta is mourning the loss of Br. Michael Mackey who passed away at Miguel House, Castletown, on Sunday February 20th.

The III International Assembly of the Lasallian Educational Mission (AIMEL2020)  is taking place in Rome from March 28th to April 1st in a hybrid form - virtual (representatives of all the Districts) and in-person (at the Generalate in Rome.

Educators in the District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta are invited to attend the last of a series of workshops which De La Salle Senior School, Malta, is organising as part of the dissemination process of their Erasmus+ Project ‘RESULTS’.

At De La Salle Liverpool, we have been writing prayers for peace in the Ukraine and we were very proud to hand them over to Fr Taras Khomych, the parish priest for the Ukrainian community in Liverpool.
