Students at De La Salle College continue to live the Lasallian values as they have made an impact in the classroom, on the football field and in the community.

This November, members of our chaplaincy team at St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy Lasallian Ambassadors, have been giving up their time to help package Food Parcels to be distributed among our community to families who may be in need.

Students at De La Salle College Macroom have been involved in many activities of late, including the Christmas Shoebox Appeal, a table quiz, designing flags and playing hurling.

While on one “Last Christmas” George Michael gave us his heart, the Student Animator Group of De La Salle High School Downpatrick are preparing to give fellow students a chance to have some fun!

The team at St John’s Retreat Centre, Dublin, continues to be busy with schools coming for retreats from far and wide. We are relieved and delighted that the coach transport costs to our new location haven't impacted the schools' enthusiasm and commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of their students.

De La Salle College Malta, Junior School, held an Anti-Bullying Week and Children’s Day with the aim of spreading the Love like Disney and making a noise about bullying.

Among the many activities at De La Salle Retreat Centre, Castletown, were prayers for peace and for the deceased.

The District of Ireland, Great Britain and Malta is mourning the loss of Br. Edmund Jones who passed away in St John’s House, St Helens, on October 25th.

All at De La Salle College Belfast send their congratulations to Year 9 Pupil Alex Barr. He recently won the Ulster Championship 33kg Weight Division for St Paul’s ABC.

As the autumn season arrived St Cassian’s, the school retreats and community was in full flow.

De La Salle College Waterford was delighted to welcome Pat Walsh, the new Director of Formation for our La Salle District, to our school, his Alma Mater, last month.

The Glanaulin Community, Pastoral Centre and friends celebrated Br Michael’s 80th birthday. We gathered in the oratory for evening prayer followed by celebration food, chat, laughter, and the compulsory blowing out of candles on the birthday cake.

Students at De La Salle College Senior School in Malta have been exploring many ways to display their Lasallian values as they have taken on voluntary work, participated in sport, while also taking part in the EY Generate 2023.

Superior General Br. Armin Luistro has penned letter after the participants of the Synod on Synodality in Rome completed the first phase of their work, which includes details on the most recent organisational changes and list of appointees for the Institute positions.

Lasallian Projects are continuing to improve the lives of those in need around the world and Br. John Deeney reflects on a project that has made a huge difference to the lives of people in a school in Kenya.

The passion, enthusiasm and sense of community that exists in our schools was underlined once again at the District Lasallian Leaders Conference GB in St Cassian’s Centre, Kintbury.

The Animators’ Gathering 2023/24, held in Castletown on Monday November 20th and Tuesday 21st, proved not only to be very productive and informative but also provided the opportunity for Animators to reflect, share ideas and strengthen connections.

Director Formation, Pat Walsh, had returned to Great Britain for the latest leg of of tour of schools in the District and has been overwhelmed by the welcomes he has received.

The Lasallian Ministry Leaders Conference (Ireland) took place on November 9th and 10th and provided the space for reflection, sharing of ideas and plans for the future.
