Macroom focus on principle of inclusion
De La Salle College Macroom 5th Year and Autism Hub students came together for a special art project focused on the Lasallian core principle of inclusion. Students worked together to paint a picture for a display of St John Baptist de La Salle alongside words of welcome in all the different languages of our students. Well done to all who took part.
Every Bottle Counts
Students form De La Salle College Macroom embraced the principle of Concern for the Poor and Social Justice with a fundraising initiative that helps those in need while caring for our environment.
Students from our Autism Hub, supported by our Student Council and Transition Year students, took part in a Return Deposit collection this week. In just the first week, they gathered bottles and cans, raising over €56.
All funds collected will be donated to Pieta during Mental Health Week on October 10th.
Everyone in our school community played their part by placing bottles in the correct bins — showing teamwork, inclusion, and care for our environment.
Let's keep it going.
Sporting success
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Markuss Bogdanovs (5th Year), who recently won a bronze medal at the WAKO Europe Youth Kickboxing Championships in Jesolo, Italy.
Markuss represented Ireland and Kickboxing Ireland on the European stage, and to bring home a medal at this level is a truly remarkable accomplishment.
Alongside his sporting success, Markuss is also a diligent and committed student, and we are delighted to see his hard work and dedication shine through both in and out of the classroom.
Congratulations, Markuss, on this massive achievement – a real inspiration to our school community.
Hot on the heels of Markuss’ success, we are delighted to celebrate another of our international athletes.
We wish Finn Yore (5th Year) the very best of luck as he represents Ireland at the U20, 2025 World Mountain Running Championships in Canfranc, Spain this week.
Finn is a proud member of the fantastic West Muskerry Athletic Club, and along with being a dedicated athlete, he is also a diligent and hardworking student.
Best of luck, Finn – we are all cheering you on.
