St Benildus promotes the Art of Reading

St Benildus College Library is currently hosting a beautiful exhibition called "The Art of Reading".  This event is a collaboration between Ms Dowling's TY art class and Ms Downey's TY Librarians. The art students turned old library books into incredible reading-themed sculptures, and the librarians created a magnificent art installation, weaving the artworks among the library books and shelves.

Last Friday, our 1st and 2nd Year Book Clubs met with Library Co-ordinator Ms Downey for doughnuts and discussion of the shortlisted titles for the Great Reads Awards 2025.  These awards for Irish debut Children's and YA authors are shortlisted by school librarians and judged by students. The merits of each book were hotly debated, the votes were cast, and we're all looking forward to the awards ceremony next term.

Thanks to Ms Moore and Ms Masterson Power for running these brilliant book clubs on Friday lunchtimes in the Library.
